Villa Description

sietemetros is a vacation from the ordinary in every way. From the second floor swimming pool and espejo de agua (water mirror) which lap up to the glass of the master bedroom and living room to the gigantic ocean and jungle view to the artistry of acclaimed minimalist architect Victor Canas, this house is not just a place to stay. It is to be experienced. And experienced with friends and family. We have 6 bedrooms that can sleep up to 15 people if this includes kids (or a maximum of 12 adults).

The entertainment area of this house is upstairs and like a great big loft with the huge kitchen flowing into the dining room with table for 12 and then into the living and all of this flowing outdoors to the pool and deck through big glass doors that are always open to let the gorgeous ocean breezes flow through. The master bedroom sits 2 steps below the living room so that when you lie on the bed you see water and only water forever. The master bedroom is completely open — you can even see the ocean from the shower, but the sandblasted glass keeps people from seeing you! On the other side of the kitchen, on the 2nd floor, are 2 more bedrooms each with their own bathrooms.

When you enter the house the first thing you hear is the un-fountain — a fountain that flows down rather than up . And the first thing you see is a staircase that seems not to be there and a hallway above that seems to float. The stairs and the passageway above are made of glass! If you do not go up the stairs you will reach the media room with huge flat screen TV and enough lounging area for everyone. Further down the hall you come to a bathroom with a shower and the a room full of floating bunk beds — they are a part of the house! And past that is another guest room with a queen bed and private bath room.

To reach the final guest room, you exit the front door walking past an outdoor shower that is a work of art and noticing the heavy bag for boxing practice at the end of the garage. This guest room is an entire apartment, complete with kitchen-living room and private bathroom and terrace.

The house has 5 flat screen TVs — and you do not even have to get out of the pool to see 2 of them. The intelligent system controls the music throughout the house — you just hook up your iPod or laptop in the media room and then control the music from the 3 touch screens upstairs. The blackout shades and privacy screens are on motors and each bedroom has its own mini-split air conditioner as well as ceiling fan.

The kitchen is gourmet and oversized and even features a built-in espresso maker! Gabriel is our houseman and bartender — his mojitos and caipirinhas are fast becoming famous in the area. Nidia is our fabulous housekeeper and is available for babysitting — she takes care of our son when we are here. We can have someone here to cook as well, if requested.

Without leaving the house you will see macaws flying by and sitting in the trees. Gigantic iguanas sun themselves on the hill behind the house and on the roofs below it. Pisotes (scientific name Coati Mundis) which look like a monkey-cat-raccoons come by for cookies and bananas in the afternoon. If you get up early and go for a walk up the road you will see monkeys playing in the trees. And throughout half of the year whales will come into the bay in front of the house.

We are a 5 minute walk from a protected cove and beach which is in front of the club house of the development which has 2 pools, a kids pool and a big grassy area for running around as well as lots of shade and pool chairs to relax in. There is a basketball court and 2 tennis courts as well. We have 2 sea kayaks — a 1 person and a 2 person which can also accommodate a child in addition. We are located next to Los Suenos with its beautiful marina, sport fishing charters, 12 restaurants, Cuban cigar shop, art gallery, 2 spas, casino and gorgeous par-72 championship golf course designed by Ted Robinson, Jr. A gourmet super market is 8 minutes away and we can have the house stocked before your arrival.

You can turn the house into a spa. We have a masseuse/esthetician that will come to the house for facials, body wraps, waxing, manicures, pedicures and massages — all in your own home! One of Costa Rica’s best chefs is available for private catering. We have an English speaking driver with a luxury van available for day trips or you can book him for the week. He is a surfer who can take you to all the secret spots or to the volcanoes or just dinner or the airport. You can take a 40 minute speed boat ride from Herradura — 7 minutes away — to the beautiful white sand beaches of Santa Teresa and Mal Pais — normally a 4 hour + trip in car and ferry. There are zipline canopy tours and waterfall hikes nearby.

Or you can sit in a pool chair, with a book and maybe a Mojito and not move.

The house is located inside a gated community with 24 hour security.

The house has 1 king-sized bed; 3 queen-sized beds; three sets of twin-sized bunk beds (for a total of 6 twin-sized beds) plus a sofa suitable for a child.
