About Us

After years of business travel and the not-frequent-enough vacation, we acquired a healthy appreciation for luxurious accommodations, personal service, and dependability. (That last trait is particularly important when traveling in a foreign, developing country!) Several trips to Costa Rica revealed that there was a real need for a brand that could deliver all three.

The idea became something of an obsession. Michael conducted exhaustive research, which included many more trips to Costa Rica. (If you know Michael, you know he really was doing research—he’s not much of a beach person, but he is all about the details!).

The response has been overwhelmingly positive. Even with the near-collapse of the economy, our business has grown by leaps and bounds. The “secrets” to our success are old-fashioned hard work, Mark’s gift with people, and doing what we say we’re going to do.

Mead Brown is a full-service Costa Rica vacation rental marketing and property management company for the Central Pacific Coast area of Costa Rica, including Jaco, Manuel Antonio, Chirripo Highlands, and Los Sueños Ocean & Golf Resort. We specialize in marketing and managing Costa Rica rental homes and in cleaning and maintaining residences. Additionally we are a full-service provider of concierge services, including stocked pantry and refrigerator, private chef, recommendations and reservations for sport-fishing, horseback riding, sea kayaking, horseback riding, zipline canopy tours and other excursions, real estate and retirement tours, in-country transportation such as airport transfers, rental cars, golf cart, as well as chartered yacht, helicopter and other aircraft and scheduled domestic flights. We can provide virtually any good or service a guest desires during their stay in Costa Rica.

Our Leaders

Mark Mead
Mark was named the 2011 villa rental specialist by Condé Nast Traveler magazine for his expertise in Costa Rica. Mead is one of 44 in the world to earn the distinction and the only expert recognized for Costa Rica.

Mark leads Mead Brown’s client relations (home owners) and customer relations (guests). Previously Mark was a public affairs executive in Washington, DC. As a champion for human rights, Mark was a regular guest or interview subject on National Public Radio, NBC, CBS, ABC, CNN, Fox, Newsweek, New York Times magazine and other media outlets. His tourism and property management-related experiences include working for a major airline and managing his own rental properties in Atlanta and Washington, DC.

Michael Brown
Michael is a marketing, public relations and project management professional who has served three U.S. presidents, twice on the White House staff. Michael was an executive with one of the world’s largest marketing firms. Michael’s clients have included globally known and respected brands. He has worked with journalists around the globe, including reporters for the New York Times, Washington Post, New Yorker, Agence France-Presse, BBC, NBC Nightly News, CBS Evening News and CNN. Michael is an advocate of sustainability and green design; he is an alumnus of the Prince of Wales’s Business and the Environment Programme developed by Cambridge University.
